Bachelor’s in Accounting Degree Programs in Missouri (A-M)

Individuals who successfully complete bachelor’s in accounting degree programs in Missouri and other states may have an advantage over those who do not complete such degrees in the job market. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, accountant and auditor positions are expected to grow by 11 percent over the next decade, faster than the average growth for other industries.

In Missouri, the average salary for accountants and auditors is $70,530, higher than the national average of $68,150. In 2016, there were 24,130 accountants and auditors in the state of Missouri. However, an accounting degree qualifies individuals for careers other than accounting, some of which have even higher annual salaries. These include:

  • Personal Financial Advisors – $103,280 per year
  • Financial Analysts – $91,740 per year
  • Financial Examiners – $77,510 per year
  • Loan Officers – $75,530 per year
  • Financial Specialists – $75,240 per year
  • Budget Analysts – $71,060 per year
  • Credit Analysts – $70,450 per year

Many of these require only a bachelor’s degree in order to qualify and may not require specific licensing in Missouri or other states. Because Certified Public Accountant positions require a license, it may be necessary to take classes beyond the bachelor’s degree level in order to meet the 150-credit hour minimum to sit for the CPA examination. However, since there are many other finance-related careers available for someone who has successfully completed bachelor’s in accounting degree programs in Missouri and other states, the career opportunities are significant.
