New Mexico Highlands University is a public school located in Las Vegas, New Mexico. Northern New Mexico College is a public school in Espanola that was founded in 1909. The school was originally founded in El Rito as Spanish American Normal School with a goal of teaching the local Spanish-speaking people how to educate others. School of Business

Western New Mexico University is a public university that was established in 1893. Located in Silver City, the school is located in a fairly rural area and has around 3,500 students attending classes.
